PFA player of the year nominees have been made and there have been no surprises as Gareth Bale and Robin Van Persie are leading the race to win the prestigious award. There are two players from Chelsea, two from Manchester United and one from Spurs and Liverpool respectively.
Bale is now the favorite to win the award which he won in 2011 but his contribution in second half of the season has been amazing. The Welsh winger has scored 17 goals so far this season but his bursting speed and overall action in the game has made him the player to watch.
Robin Van Persie as we all know won the award last year but a lot of people doubted his quality when he made the move to Manchester United in the summer. However, his 21 goals so far in the season has helped United to get into the pole position to win their 20th title.
Eden Hazard who made the big money move from Lille this season has enjoyed a very productive campaign. He scored 12 goals for the Blues this season along with increasing the influence of Juan Mata who had given 10 assists and 18 goals so far. The deadly duo from Chelsea are both in contention for the big award.
Luis Suarez despite all the negative headlines in the press is currently the leading top scorer in the premier league with 22 goals to his name whereas his tally in all competition is 29 which is best by any player in the country.
The last player in the PFA player of the year nominees is Michael Carrick. The midfielder aged 31 has enjoyed a productive campaign and his efforts in middle of the park has been recognized which has rightly come as a delight for his manager. The decision would be announced on 28th April.
