Representatives of Newcastle inform striker Demba Ba has revealed that Chelsea are not likely to sign the front man after failing to agree terms in an unproductive meeting on Sunday. Officialdom from Chelsea Football Club held talks with Ba’s agents but were not successful in striking a deal for the striker who has already scored 13 goals this season.
Senegal International Ba, has a release clause of £ 7 million in his current contract which automatically gets activated during transfer windows. With clubs allowed to sign players starting from 1st January to 31st January every year, the race has started to hot up for Ba’s signature. Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have all been linked.
With Falcao hinting to stay at Atletico Madrid for this season, Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez has turned his attention towards other targets like Ba, so not reaching a deal for the striker is likely to be a big blow for Blues as there are not many options for them to exploit in this window.
With just one day left before the start of New Year Chelsea will need to offer better terms and with Arsenal, QPR and French giants, PSG also in race, representatives from the West London club will need to speed up in order to secure the deal.
