Good Bye Ricky Ponting

A Great Era of Cricket came to an end on Monday when Ricky Thomas Ponting played last test match of his 17 years long successful career against South Africa. Although he got out early on the day but Crowd and South African team showed honour for this great player by clapping and shaking hands with him.

Former Australian Captain was not able to make his test match memorable and got dismissed after scoring just 8 runs. Australia also lost this test match to South Africa after failing to get big target of 632 runs.

37 Years old Ricky Ponting announced retirement from test cricket last week while he has already retired from ODI and T20 formats of Cricket. Ponting played 168 test matches for Australia in his amazing career of 17 years and got record of being most successful captain in history of Australian Cricket.

He scored 41 Test centuries and scored 13378 runs in his test career.  Ponting played 375 ODI matches for Australia in which he scored 13704 runs.  He was also the captain of Australian team in World Cups of 2003 and 2007 which Australia won. He was also part of Australian team that won World Cup of 1999.

Different Former and Current players are paying their tribute to this great Cricketing legend.  According to Ponting he taken decision of retirement after thinking a lot and it is the right time to leave.

Curtly Ambrose and Wasim Akram are toughest bowlers according to Ponting that he faced in his entire career.
