Muslim Football Players

There was only one Muslim player, when the old division 1 of English Football was renamed to be English Premier League but today the number is around 40. So we look at some Muslim Football Players in the big teams of premier league today.

Arsenal has currently two Muslim players with Bacary Sagna and Abou Diaby. Both are French nationals and are an integral part of  their teams when totally fit and available for selection. Liverpool also have a number of Muslim Football Players with Osama Assaidi, Samed Yesil and Kolo Toure. Assaidi is Moroccan, Yesil being a German and Toure belongs to African country Ivory Coast.

Samir Nasri and Yaya Toure who is the brother of Liverpool’s Kolo Toure are the Muslim players in the Manchester City squad. Nasri belongs to France whereas like Kolo, Yaya Toure belongs to Ivory Coast. It has to be noted that Yaya Toure is one of the best muslim players to have played the great game.

Newcastle United have the most number of Muslim players with Hatem Ben Arfa, Chiek Tiote, Mehdi, Abeid. Chelsea currently have Demba Ba and Nejum Ferouz who is a youngster as muslim players in their squad.

Apart from these teams, a number of other teams like QPR, Stoke City, West Ham United and Tottenham Hostspur etc have also got many muslim players in their playing squad. Moreover, the trend of having muslim players is not only limited to England but now all across Europe , top teams have several star muslim football players in their team. One prime example in this regard is that of Italian Giants AC Milan with El-Sharawaay, Suley Muntari and Kevin Prince Boateng all belong to muslim faith and are also a very key part in the AC Milan team. So it will not be wrong to say that Muslims are now fully proving that they are not terrorists at all and are peace loving nation.
