United Reach Last 8 In FA Cup

Manchester United keep their treble hopes alive after securing the quarter final berth against Chelsea if they are able to beat Boro in their own 5th round clash respectively. The first half ended scoreless with Reading playing a top class defensive but yet showing enough maturity to have breaks at the other end of the goal.
Second half also looked to be heading towards a goalless end until United Boss Sir Alex Ferguson introduced Nani into the action who immediately repaid the faith of his manager by opening the scoring on 69 minutes. Soon after scoring the goal, Nani then provided the assist for his partner Javier Hernandez who neatly converted the chance to score his 15th goal of the seasons and United’s second on the night. Reading did pull one back on the night through MCanuff ten minutes before the final whistle but it didn’t prove to be enough as United held on to their lead to secure the quarter final berth.
With this win, Manchester United remain on course to win a historic treble, a feat they achieved 14 years ago in 1999. Currently, they are 12 points ahead in the premier league with Manchester City being the nearest rivals. In Europe, they have a home tie coming up against Real Madrid after drawing 1-1 away and now victory over Reading in the 5th round mean they have secured their place in the quarter finals of the FA Cup as well.
