Arguably, best manager of the football world Sir Alex Ferguson has decided to retire at end of the season.  The news has come as a shock for many of the football fans as it wasn’t expected. Though Sir Alex did decide to step down from the manager’s post in 2007 but still he decided to carry on for another 6 years.

It was again in the news but Sir Alex totally ruled out the news that he is set to step down and retire from the game. However, it has now been revealed that the news was kept a secret from players and staff alike because they didn’t want to distract the players from winning the 20th league title for the biggest club in English football.

Ferguson as a whole won 38 trophies as a United manager, including 13 premier league titles and 2 European cups. Moreover, the biggest achievement of his reign would be that he surpassed Liverpool’s record of 18 league titles. Now United are two above their biggest rivals.

It will be a difficult job for the new man to come in and actually continue the success that United has enjoyed under Sir Alex Ferguson. It has been a fairytale for Sir Alex and Manchester United because both of them have had seen massive success with big trophies and world class talent signing for the club.
